Home Support Services

Comprehensive household support that keeps your loved one's home clean, organized, and comfortable.

What's Included

What This Looks Like

Home support covers the practical side of daily life that becomes overwhelming when mobility or energy declines. Housekeeping, laundry, dishes, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, and kitchen maintenance. The house stays the way your loved one has always kept it, just with help.

Meal preparation goes beyond reheating frozen dinners. Our caregivers cook real meals based on your loved one's preferences and dietary needs. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks prepared fresh. We also handle grocery shopping and pantry organization.

Errands and household management fill the gaps. Picking up prescriptions, dropping off dry cleaning, organizing mail, managing deliveries, and handling the small tasks that pile up when getting around is difficult.

This service is a powerful differentiator from agencies that only offer body care. Many seniors do not need help bathing or dressing. They need someone to keep the house livable, prepare nutritious meals, and handle the errands they can no longer manage independently.

Everything Included

Home Support Services We Provide

Everything below is part of one care plan, delivered by the same trusted caregiver. Nothing is booked or billed separately.

Housekeeping

Light housekeeping that keeps the home the way your loved one has always kept it. Dusting, laundry, dishes, vacuuming, bathrooms, and kitchen cleanup, handled steadily on every visit instead of piling up between them.

Homemaker Services

Broader household management beyond cleaning, like organizing mail, managing deliveries, changing linens, and keeping supplies stocked. The small tasks that pile up when energy runs low get handled before they become overwhelming.

Meal Preparation

Real meals cooked fresh in the home, built around preferences and dietary needs like low-sodium or diabetic-friendly. Caregivers also prep ahead, so there is something good to eat between visits.

Grocery Shopping

Weekly shopping trips and pantry stocking, with or without your loved one along for the ride. Caregivers learn the brands and staples the household actually uses, so the fridge stays full of the right things.

Errand Services

Prescription pickups, post office runs, dry cleaning, and returns handled reliably every week. Errands stop depending on which family member can get off work in time.

More Than Housekeeping

Not Just a Clean Home. A Supported Home.

Housekeeping, meals, laundry, errands, groceries, and prescription pickups can quickly become a patchwork of separate services. Ativo brings those everyday needs together through one trusted caregiver who knows your loved one, their routine, and what to watch for.

Our Caregiver Standard

Skill gets a caregiver through the door. Character is what earns them a place on my team. Every caregiver I bring on is held to the same standard as our Ativo Senior Living teams, because that is the standard a family deserves when they open their door to us. The people who make it through are the people I would want caring for my own parents.

Home support visits start at 4 hours and can be scheduled as often as needed. A popular option is twice-weekly visits for cleaning and meal prep, with additional visits for grocery shopping and errands. Combine with companion care for a full-service experience.

FAQ

Questions About Home Support Services

We hear these questions every week about home support services. If yours is not here, call us. We would rather spend 10 minutes on the phone than leave you guessing.

Is this just a cleaning service?

No. A cleaning service comes in, cleans, and leaves. Our home support caregivers provide comprehensive household management: cooking, shopping, laundry, errands, organization, and companionship. They are a consistent presence who knows your loved one and their preferences, not a rotating crew with a checklist.

Can you accommodate special diets?

Yes. Whether your loved one needs low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, soft foods, or just prefers specific cuisines, our caregivers prepare meals accordingly. During the care planning process, we document all dietary preferences and restrictions.

Do you handle pet care?

Light pet care is included as part of home support. Feeding, water bowls, letting dogs out, and basic cleanup. We understand that pets are family, and helping care for them is part of caring for your loved one.

Can this be combined with other services?

Absolutely, and it usually is. Most families pair home support with companion care or personal care for a complete package. Your caregiver handles both the household and the personal connection in one visit.

Not Sure Where to Begin?

Every family's situation is different. Let's talk about yours. In about 20 minutes we'll map out a simple starting plan and a clear path forward, with no pressure.
