Accessibility Statement

Ativo Home Care is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to everyone, including seniors and people with disabilities. Last reviewed 2026.

Our Commitment

Ativo Home Care serves seniors and the families who care for them, so an accessible website is not an afterthought for us. It is central to how we work. We want every visitor, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, or magnification, to be able to learn about our services, find their local care team, and reach us easily.

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Measures We Take

Accessibility is built into how this website is designed, developed, and maintained. Measures we take include:

  • Semantic HTML structure with a logical heading hierarchy on every page.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and hidden labels for decorative graphics.
  • Full keyboard operability, including a skip-to-content link and accessible menus and accordions.
  • Descriptive labels on all form fields, links, and interactive controls.
  • Support for reduced-motion preferences: animations are disabled for visitors who request less motion in their device settings.
  • Color choices reviewed for sufficient contrast between text and backgrounds.
  • Regular automated testing with tools such as WAVE, plus manual keyboard and screen reader checks during development.

Compatibility

This website is designed to be compatible with current versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, and with common assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.

The site is fully responsive and supports browser zoom up to 200 percent without loss of content or functionality.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Third-party content we embed, such as Google Maps, is controlled by its provider and may not meet the same standards we hold for our own pages. Where an embedded feature is not accessible, the same information is available elsewhere on the page in plain text, or from our team by phone.

If you encounter any barrier not listed here, please tell us. We treat accessibility feedback as a priority and aim to respond within two business days.
